This was a large-scale project that I successfully led and delivered over three years with a team of four - five people, managing it from Stage 2 through final construction.
One of the most significant challenges was retaining a listed façade. The existing façade had to be carefully lifted to transfer its self-weight to a new structure and foundation. This process was executed flawlessly and without incidents, meeting the client’s demand for a risk-free approach. I successfully communicated the strategy to all stakeholders, ensuring their approval and confidence in the process.
The zero-risk requirement extended to multiple interfaces, including the public realm, neighboring properties, and other listed elements. Each interface required meticulous planning and precise execution.
I led the team throughout this three-year journey, ensuring both internal and external success.
The project involved coordinating with architects, other consultants, contractors, clients, and various engineering firms. Although these interfaces presented challenges, the outcome was a resounding success. The completed project, featuring a public space, stands as a testament to the effective collaboration among all parties.
The client, Saint George West London, dedicated a large team to this project, and I engaged with them daily.
I ensured detailed and consistent reporting, keeping the client team fully informed about project risks and our collective mitigation strategies. This level of communication fostered trust and streamlined decision-making throughout the project.
I provided my directors with regular reports on project resourcing and progress, maintaining transparency and accountability.
Over the course of three years, I managed the client relationship independently, requiring only a single escalation meeting involving directors. This demonstrated my ability to navigate challenges and maintain alignment with the client’s expectations.
This was the most significant project I delivered in London. At the start, I had to adapt to cultural differences and demonstrate resilience to navigate new challenges effectively.
I am proud of the service I provided to the client, and I am confident this collaboration will pave the way for future opportunities.
