Project: Cines Parque Sur, Madrid

Role: Project Director

01 – Technical Expertise

This structure was unusual, as all the cinema rooms were hanging from the roof structure. To achieve this, I designed 24m to 36m trusses, which were hidden in the partition walls between rooms. This configuration allowed the inclined soffits of the rooms to serve as the main architectural feature of the ground-floor space, meeting one of the key requirements of the architectural design.

Another challenge was that the building was divided into three distinct bodies, with two movement joints fully separating the building down to the foundation level.

02 – Leadership and Management Skills

Three people were involved in this project. The size of the project allowed each team member to specialize in different aspects, and the roles were clearly defined.

03 – Communication and Stakeholder Management

I managed all the relationships with various stakeholders, including the client, the cinema operator, the leisure park operator, and the planning and quality control authorities.

04 – Financial and Commercial Acumen

This project was commissioned to GMA Consultants. I created GMA and served as the company’s executive director.

05 – Personal Qualities

This was a very challenging time in my career. I took on significant responsibilities while rapidly developing my technical skills. It was a joyful period for me, as I thrive on challenges and new endeavors.
