This project didn’t have major technical challenges as the cinema rooms were sitting on a ground-bearing RC slab. The column distances were below 15m, and the lightweight roof didn’t need to span large distances. The primary technical challenge was the scale of the building and the movement joints. The bulk of the work ended up being repetitive.
Three people were involved in this project. The size of the project allowed each member to specialize in different aspects, and the roles were clearly defined.
I managed all relationships with the different stakeholders, including the client, the cinema operator, the leisure park operator, and the planning and quality control authorities.
This project was commissioned to GMA Consultants. I created GMA and acted as the company’s executive director.
This was a very challenging time in my career. I was taking on significant responsibility while rapidly developing my technical skills. It was a joyful period, as I thrive on challenges and new endeavors.
